Rating: M
Genre: Romance/Drama

Summary: Bella and Edward fall in and out of love over the course of 5 years. We begin at the end, we end at the beginning and somewhere in the middle, we realize just how easy it is to lose each other along the way. Rated M.

I was rec’ed Paper Heart on twitter by RoseLover24 and LambCullen. Pretty much anything these two tell me to read, I will. So I clicked on the link to the story and decided to give it a go because it was only six chapters and had less than 100 reviews. I like to give lesser known fics a shot (hence the reason I’m blogging on this site =P). Rose and Lambie said it was one hell of an angsty ride, and well, I love my angst!

The author gives the disclaimer within the first chapter that her Edward and Bella do not end up together. (Yes you heard me correctly, they do not end up together). Though my interest was still peaked, because she continues to say: Bella's story is told from the end of their relationship to the beginning, and Edward's story starts and the beginning and ends at the end. Each chapter alternates from Bella’s POV to Edward’s.

I think she’s chosen an incredibly interesting and original way to tell a story. Paper Heart is based off a musical I’ve never heard of, but am incredibly interested to go see now.

Paper Heart is filled with raw emotion, something true and incredibly easy to relate to.

Anger comes first. Flashing, blinding, consuming. It starts off slow, lapping at your lungs and your fingers and your gut, building relentlessly, compelling you to run, to scream, to destroy. Your brain is a jumble of senseless firing synapses and your entire body trembles with the nervous energy of it all, from your scalp to your lips to your toes. You can't sit still, can't eat, can't sleep, can't focus on anything but the wave of rage that drives you to the edge of insanity before it swells and finally, blessedly breaks.

But after that brief moment of reprieve, when you're crashing headfirst into the next mindfuck of emotion, you find yourself longing for those ebbing, electric tides of anger and rage. Because after the anger and the rage comes the pain.

Paper Heart is incredibly well-written, original and evokes a variety of emotions from me while I read (exactly what I want a story to do to me). It’s got a lot of angst, but also some sweet moments too.

Check out Paper Heart if you’re looking for something original and refreshing in a fandom where it is increasingly difficult to do just that. Don’t be scared away by the fact that Edward and Bella end up together. Sometimes love is bigger than us all and take on a life of its own. Sometimes, unfortunately, the greatest loves aren’t always meant to be.

Summary: Bella only wanted to survive the terror of her memories, but when Edward appears in her life, she realizes she wants something more. Will she let him put her together again or will their broken pasts bury them both? AH/OOC. Rated M. Indie Twific Nominee

You know how you stumble across a story, one that you weren’t really searching for, and it becomes something that moves you, sucks you in and completely captivates you? That happened to me when I was searching for a new story and thankfully found AydenMorgen’s Empty Panes & Pretty Things. I started reading late at night and found myself still reading hours upon hours later, too immersed in the intricate story to stop long enough for something as lame as sleeping.

Empty Panes is a story about two people’s search for healing, forgiveness and ultimately true love. It isn’t an easy journey…if you’re going to read, which is a must for anyone who considers themselves a true connoisseur of must read fan fiction….you will need to steel yourself for some difficult chapters to get through. But I promise you, you will be rewarded for your perseverance in the end.

The story starts with our Bella; a snarky, feisty and foul mouthed broken girl and she completely turns Edward’s world upside down in the blink of an eye. From the very first chapter, Edward is done for. Oh their first few encounters are a bit rocky…okay a lot rocky. With comments like, “I slammed the bolt home and sank to my knees, shaking in fury. Of all the nerve! Who the hell did he think he was? The second fucking coming of Christ?” Has there ever been a better term for Edward than ‘Second Coming’? I mean, come on, its perfection!

Edward does slowly and painfully begin to tear down Bella’s carefully and extremely solid walls tiny bit by tiny bit. The turning point comes when something (and I don’t want to spoil it!) happens to Bella and it is Edward who saves her…in every possible way. Sure, he protects her physically, but it is the healing he helps her do to her soul that is gut wrenching.

Totally rip your heart out gut wrenching…but it is so, so beautiful to watch.

Edward must face his own demons while helping Bella navigate her path to forgiveness. The burden of guilt that Edward carries around is astounding and it is only his love for Bella that keeps him from crumbling under the enormous weight of it all. Our beloved Edward never does anything half-assed, that is for sure, and his absolute need to make Bella safe and whole is just one example of that.

Jasper and Alice…and my God you will love Ayden’s Jasper…enter the picture as Edward begins to crumble under the pressure of keeping Bella and himself from drowning in their guilt and pain. Edward convinces Bella to leave to face her demons and he, in turn, faces his own. In most stories and in most cases, it makes sense for them to face things together. In this case, the only option is the most painful one. Edward and Bella must go forward alone so that they can meet at the end…free from the burdens that they have carried for so long.

I’m telling you, you have never read anything more gripping, more moving, than these two beautiful, shattered, but so very strong people as they fight and claw their way back to one another. Have plenty of tissues handy, you will need them. Empty Panes & Pretty Things is a story that will make you feel things you have never felt before and it will stick with you long after the final word is read.

You remember how rough high school was? Take a Little Trip by KristenLynn, brings it all back for you.

Summary: In high school, geeky Edward tutored popular Bella. It ended badly. Four years later, Edward reappears in one of grad student Bella's classes. Both have changed. A lot. Will it be enough?

I must say, I fell in love with this Bella because I could relate to her on so many levels. She's spunky, moody and thinks she knows everything (a lot like yours truly). But unlike me, this Bella is also Miss Popularity, a cheerleader and unofficial Queen of Forks High.

She is dating Mike, captain of the football team and Bella has skated through school, terrorizing teachers with her foul expressions because of her bad attitude and her sense of entitlement.

The poor grades catch up with her and her math teacher demands she receive tutoring to help her pass the class. The tutor? None of than the Edward Cullen, shy guy at Forks High. He is the total geek-ward package with ill-fitting clothes, floppy reddish hair, glasses, and most importantly- Edward is a band geek. You think he's swoon-worthy yet ladies?

After a few tutoring sessions with the elusive Geekward, sparks fly, but they keep their respective crushes on each other on the DL (when I was in high school, that stood for “on the down-low-” top secret). When the secret affair becomes front page news at school, Bella makes a big mistake and it costs her.

Flash-forward years later, Bella is a grad student at UW, she is completely different now. She is focused on her studies and the completely down-to-earth Bella we all know and love. Although, the bad ‘tude seeps out every now and then. On a normal day, a very special note from a very special dork is left on Bella’s car saying that he is transferring to UW and he wants to “get together”.

This turns Bella’s world upside down. Does she want to see Edward again and bring all those feelings back up, when she has spent years trying to move on?

This fic is relatively short and complete. The author submitted the first chapter in a contest, and proceeded to expand it for a full-length story. KristenLynn paints a realistic view of high school, showing that is full of cliches and stereotypes. But, every now and then, if you look beyond the dorky clothes and the herd-mentality, even high schoolers can find true connections amidst all the pettiness of teen angst and drama.

And if you are lucky to ever have lightning strike twice for you, maybe it is a sign.

Genre: Humor/Angst
Characters: Bella/Edward

Summary: Alert the Darwin Awards! Bella Swan, depressed and demented, nearly dies trying to kill herself & is shipped to Forks WA. Watch her update her facebook status and fall in love. WARNING: MA, very dark comedy. OOC w/ nod to canon , E/B some Jake , AH

Bella has to move to Forks after an accident. Although it was indeed an accident, she may or may not have been contemplating suicide. Ok…well she was, but she decided otherwise;

“The bathwater had cooled to tepid, but still, I held a steak knife to the bluish flesh of my wrist without any real follow-through. The serrated edge was duller than I expected. Shit, this was stupid. Who was I kidding? It's not like I had the stomach to slice through my skin, not when I couldn't even apply enough pressure to tear through the first dead layer. Also, what if I didn't kill myself all-the-way dead and contracted Tetanus or something?”

Even though she doesn't go through with it, in true Bella form and fashion she falls and falls onto the knife she was planning on doing the deed with and is now sent to live with her with her father, Charlie.

Please don’t let the suicide deter all you wussperv, anti-angst readers. This story is hilarious. HILARIOUS. Shouty caps just in case you didn’t get the point from the quote above. (Seriously, no pun intended.)

This is dark humor at its finest and can I just say that I love Bella’s that drop the F-bomb? This Bella drops it and often, that’s for sure, but that’s not the only reason I’m drawn to her. The author writes Bella’s hilarity/teenage angst flawlessly and the reader’s introduction to Edward ain’t so bad either;

“My tongue tripped over the last word as something shiny in the parking lot caught my attention. A silver Volvo glared haughtily at my crap-heap, and instantly, I was ashamed. "Woah... fancy." Even fancier still was the boy who emerged from the vehicle, his hair arranged on his head like he had been fucking all afternoon and then he sprayed it in place during the post-coital afterglow. He ran his hand through his hair a few times and dropped his keys into his front pocket, pulling the jeans down slightly in the process. I became aware of drool forming on my chin. Shit, he was better than anything my wet dreams could ever conjure up, and I suddenly regretted not packing my dildo in my carry-on. He strutted into the sporting goods store, moving with an almost feline grace.
He was so beautiful that he practically sparkled”.

This is right before Bella nose leaks some blood on Edward’s shoe. Yeah...I’m telling you this fic kills me.

This story is only two chapters in but it quickly has become one of my new favorites.
Ms. Flan had me in tears and belly busting laughter from the very get go.

I’m bouncing on the edge of my seat waiting to see what other predicaments this Bella gets herself into and to see how this Edward and Jacob will play into this story. Oh, did I not mention Jake before? Yea, Jake’s here too and he is referred to as a “sex god” as well.

Hummna hummna! This Bella’s got two sex gods and her social networking skills to keep her afloat and to ensure that the hilarity in this story will keep us rolling.

This comedic angst story has fun written all over it. You will be sore when everyone’s laughing and you don’t know why, so don’t be left out - GO READ....NOW!

Acting Out by eroticfan
 http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4711015/1/Acting_Out
Review by Jjjuliebee

Rating: M
Genre: Angst/Romance
Characters: Edward/Bella/Jake

Summary: AU-human: Edward, Bella and Jake are juniors in Forks. Very NC-17 with Edward and Jake both bi, but not PWP - there's plot, angst, humor and romance as these messed-up kids figure out their three-way relationship. You'll like Jake here - trust me!

I am pretty traditional in my fic pairings. I am a Bella/Edward purist, plain and simple. But once in a while, a different kind of story comes along that draws me in. Acting Out was one of the first fan fiction stories that I ever read, and it has remained a favorite. At 29 chapters, it still amazes me that it has less than 600 reviews. Don’t let Jake scare you away, ladies. This is one great read.

I was intrigued by the summary - in essence, Edward, Bella and Jake are messed-up teenagers working to figure out their three-way relationship. First love is always confusing and intense. Throw in the added complication of sorting through feelings for two people, and you can imagine that things can get pretty interesting.

This is not your typical high school fic, and it sure as hell isn’t your typical love story. Edward is cocky, arrogant, androgynous, and hot as hell. Bella is the new girl in town with a traumatic past, and Jake is the local kid on the rez. Their three lives collide and when they do, sparks fly.

Bella moves back to Forks from Phoenix in her junior year of high school after many years away, immediately drawn in and intrigued by Edward, against her better judgment. She is inexplicably attracted to his bad-boy persona - a trait that she knows far too well due to a horrific past relationship with a very evil James. Edward is drawn to her as well, and although he attempts to chalk up his attraction as his standard “fuck and run” M.O., he knows from the start that something is very different. Typical boy meets girl, right? Well, not exactly.

Enter Jake. Both bi, Jake and Edward meet at a Seattle club and have an immediate, intense connection. I am a big fan of slash, and the author manages to create intensely erotic lemony times. Case in point:

And suddenly he's got me and he's walking me back til I'm pressed against the brick wall of an old building we're passing in the shadow of some steps and his hands are in my hair and he's crushing me to the wall pressing himself hard against me and his mouth's all over mine and fuck yes he's kissing me hard. I grab his ass and moan into his mouth and it's all hot and wet and tongues as I suck his kiss.

Needless to say, Jake and Edward get it on but good. After spending the night together (which is new to them both), they both struggle with unfamiliar feelings - they both want more of each other in a way that neither can articulate to themselves, let alone to each other. And then, as they say, the plot thickens.

Edward begins an even more intense relationship with Bella. He has an overwhelming desire to not only possess her, but to comfort, protect and care for her. Edward is afraid of his feelings for Bella. His inner dialogue articulates his confusion very clearly:

I think I love Bella but she makes me feel crazy and out of control. I need her too much and it scares me. Jake calms me down.

Bella is equally as terrified of her nearly involuntary need for Edward as well, particularly as she discovers that she is nearly powerless to stay away from him.

As with Edward, Jake enters Bella’s life and is a calming, centering figure. Edward and Bella both start on paths of separate relationships with Jake, but eventually, they come together as a trio, and lemony times ensue.

I won’t spoil the ending, but let’s just say that there is plenty of angst, action, and did I mention lemony times? But above all, the threesome act as mutual support systems for each other as well as best friends and lovers. The story concludes with a very satisfying and sweet resolution. It’s a bumpy ride, but worth every hurdle, and it remains one of my favorite fics. Enjoy!

Characters:  Edward & Bella

Summary: Agent Edward Cullen hears the thoughts of those around him except for new recruit Isabella Swan. Will they control their feelings and work as a team in order to bring down the dark and dirty world hiding in Forks? Will virtue give way to vice?

Edward Cullen super spy and playboy extraordinaire, has the world at his fingertips and he knows it. He’s at the top of his game and by damned no one or no thing can stop him. He has the ultimate power of reading peoples minds and can do whatever he pleases. As he walks through the FBI training facility, looking for his next conquest, he notices a beautiful brunette who intrigues him immediately. Instantly he realizes she’s the only person he’s ever encountered whose thoughts he can not hear. Will super agent Edward Cullen be able to stay on top of his game and figure out this mysterious woman at the same time?

When the story starts Edward has made sure new agent Bella Swan is on his next assignment. In their first formal encounter he realizes by touching her he can hear her thoughts.

“Yes, I could hear inside that pretty little head. This is awesome. Unbelievable… touch her, and I can hear her? Well, well, Miss Swan, I think you just entered the petting zoo.”

Bella is excited about her first assignment and also nervous to be working with Edward Cullen and has no idea he would love to make her his new toy.

Edward wants her to be his next conquest and does not keep this a secret. He is always pushing her buttons and finding ways to touch her. She decides to keep things formal and not to be another notch on his belt. Bella takes her job very seriously and has worked hard to get to this point in her life and will not kiss it all away on Mr. Cullen. This is her dream and he will not distract her. But can she deny that strong pull that she has towards him?

“He sees me as nothing more than a conquest, his next feast. But there’s just something I feel when he’s near. I’ve never felt anything like this before.”

Bella decides that, for the sake of her career, she has to keep him at arms length. She enforces a strict no-touching policy. Edward starts to realize that he needs to be with her, not just sleep with her. Can Mr. Cullen change his ways and prove this to Bella.

The mission they are going on will bring them to Forks, WA to bring down a crime syndicate. Edward will act as a venture capitalist and Bella will act as his assistant. I cannot wait to see how their dynamic plays out when they are undercover!

I do not want to give too much of the story away, but know this it is a must read. It is sexy, funny and has plenty of UST. There is also a serious side to this story. The people that they are trying to bring down are involved in a sex trade operation, which is a very real problem in the world today.

This fic is really just getting started and I adore Bondward and Bella. They have some of the best chemistry I have read and l love reading what they are thinking. It has great character support some of the funniest one liners I have read.

In a fandom filled with every type of "ward" from Doctorward, Hockyward, Geekward, Closerward, Domward, Vampward, Bikeward, hateward...Stoneward...Ladies (and gentlemen) I bring you Soccerward.

It was only a matter of time before someone tapped into the head of a hawt soccer player...Red Devil is a collaboration between two authors; one writing Edward and the other writing Bella. The initial idea sprouted from the love of The Manchester United Soccer club. With the recent excitement of the World Cup this fic couldn't come at a better time.

"Flashes of thousands of cameras went off trying to capture the moment..." Edward, Prologue.

This story starts off throwing you in the center of the chaos...you feel like you’re down on that field being admired by thousands of fans. I myself am not a soccer fan but can honestly say I may reconsider after reading Red Devil.

If you love a smartass, cocky, foul-mouthed Edward you will love this take on him.

"Is there a fucking intermission in this lecture?" Edward, Chapter 1.

What Mr. Masen doesn't realize is that just because he's a womanizing, famous soccer player doesn't mean there are not consequences to his actions.

Insert Bella Swan, Edward’s new agent. She's a woman scorned and doesn't put up with his bullshit.

He's surrounded by “yes” men, but not Bella, she gives him a run for his money.

He's sworn away commitment, preferring a life of partying with a different woman in his bed each night. She's sworn away love after being hurt by a former client turned boyfriend.

But it’s never that easy... "Bella, if you don't mind I'm going to fuck you now." Edward, Chapter 10.

It never is...

Bloodletting by queenofgrey
Summary: “Bloodletting - noun - bloodshed or slaughter; the act or practice of letting blood by opening a vein. Edward lives a life of death & Bella lives one of healing. Somewhere, covered in blood, there is a middle ground that will save them both. E/B, AU.”

Edward begins this story as merciless vampire that simply needs to be fed.

“Homer once wrote, "Hunger is insolent, and will be fed," and I, for one, subscribe to that notion. It's innate – the want to stay sated and alive – and it is this I remember as my teeth sink into flesh and lives end. I am helpless, hopeless, for hunger is in control, overwhelming, and I am at its mercy. I feel no blame, no remorse for the lives I've taken, for the blood I've swallowed, for it is my nature and I must give into it. I feel nothing but hunger, and I must feed.”

He feels no remorse, guilt, or shame about killing for food.. It is a necessity. He is hungry and must be fed, end of story. Until one kill flips his world.

“And for the first time, I feel a twinge in my gut and I vomit blood all over the ground in the alley, wondering where this sentimentality, this feeling of remorse and wrong-doing has come from”

This kill is a sharp turn in the story that comes totally out of left field and this where the author grabs you by the gut and it doesn’t seem that she will loosen her grip anytime soon. This story is two chapters in but she had me hooked in the first paragraph and I’m just dying to know what is going to happen to Edward next. There is a certain air of mystery to this story that seems to appear effortlessly through the author’s vivid, engaging and unique writing.

I definitely wouldn’t want to be the one to miss what this author has in store for her readers and for this Edward.

I usually only have two quotes per review, but the author has so many great ones already in this short story that I could only narrow it down to three. There was no way I was leaving this baby out:

“I have been found, and not by God; I have been found by a girl and her dog, and Hell has arrived – Hell, without the possibility of parole.”

Silence and Security by adorablecullens

Summary: Two years after her marriage to Jacob Black ends, 37-year-old single mom Bella buys a house. Will the handsome single dad next door help her learn to love again? Or will Edward's presence in their life only reinforce Renee's trauma-induced silence?

If you are looking for the perfect story to read on a rainy Sunday or something you can read at work (because really, we all know we do it if we can get away with it), Silence & Security by adorablecullens is just the thing for you. This story is a great mix of drama, romance, and suspense plus the pace is absolutely perfect. I had read this story before and it was even more enjoyable the second go round. That is really saying something in the fanfic world! Adorablecullens’ story will definitely stay with you after you have finished and I guarantee it will be on your list of favorites for a long time to come.

Silence & Security is the story of an older Edward and Bella. The characterizations of both are a refreshing change from their normal portrayal. Adorablecullens has developed a completely well rounded Edward and Bella, and has given them the maturity and wisdom that come with age. Both are parents of little girls and Bella’s daughter Renee suffers from elective mutism due to a traumatic experience. Edward is happy with where he is in his life even though he has divorced from a surprisingly nice Tanya (which is a refreshing change from what we would normally see). Edward is portrayed as a normal guy, one who is content to be a normal dad and do normal things with his daughter. Oh, there are peeks and glimpses of the canon Edward we all love so much. He still questions whether or not he is worthy of Bella but this vulnerability is, of course, one of the reasons why we all love him so much.

Bella’s story is much more tragic than that of Edward’s and it is one that will definitely pull at your heart strings. Both she and Renee have suffered so much, but it is Bella’s strength and the love she has for her daughter that pulls them through their tragedy. Watching her open herself up to the possibility of finding love with Edward is poignant to witness and you will find yourself cheering for her as you read the story.

All of our beloved characters are present along with the additions of Edward’s daughter Lily and Bella’s daughter Renee. Together, all of these are excellent complements to the story. The children add depth and emotion but do not over shadow the love story. Neither do the other characters, and adorablecullens has done an excellent job of portraying our favorite Cullen family without making them domineering and intrusive. The family just wants Edward to be happy, and they help him navigate his relationship with Bella and her daughter with amazing grace and support.

Silence & Security is a well written, beautiful love story of two people who have seen much and experienced more. They are grownups driven by passion and devotion and Edward and Bella are still our favorite people, just older and wiser. The story is original and the alternating points of views she uses are complementary and not redundant at all. Silence & Security is a sweet, feel good story and I promise you will not be sorry if you read it. You will read it again and again!

Fuggiasco by kdc2239
Summary: Edward, homeless since age twelve is used to the gritty, hard life. Now twenty, his main goal is to make it in the world, and off the streets. What happens when a girl who seems to be broken beyond repair becomes his new shadow?

Kdc2239’s Fuggaisco is a gritty tale of a homeless Edward and Bella that takes place in the city of Portland, Oregon. There is a great attention to detail in this story and the grim realities of being homeless are pointed out in a stark reality. Being homeless isn’t glamorous; it’s a hard, soul killing life and kdc pulls no punches.

Edward and Bella meet when he saves her from an attack. She is new to this life and her story is surrounded in mystery. She doesn’t even give Edward her real name, just picks a name off a cardboard box as they try to rest in a dingy alley. Edward has been on the streets since he was twelve years old and once he saves her, she becomes his unwanted shadow.

Bella is a skittish mess, and through the hints that kdc gives in bits and pieces; we can only guess that her story is horrific. Bella is like a puzzle you want to put together, but all the pieces aren’t there to be able to do it yet. There is violence all around Edward and Bella and through kdc’s amazing writing skills; we see glimpses of canon Edward. He wants to protect Bella at all costs, even if he has to risk himself to do so.

Edward hasn’t let street life destroy his humanity and his through his affection to Bella, as it continues to grow, we are able to see how they help each other. The story is realistic and poignant but there is reason to hope. The story pulls you in. It makes you want to jump into their world and just help them because…well because they are Edward and Bella.

*This story is no longer available*

Summary: “High school sucks. The stress is high, and the kids are cruel, especially when you don't look like the rest. For Edward Cullen, college was the fresh start he always wanted. Too bad he left behind more than he intended.”

What are the common fic nicknames that we all know for Edward Cullen? There is the Adonis, angel, marble statue, Greek God, Sex on legs, etc etc. Have you read a story where he starts off as nothing remotely close to any one of those names but instead he is known as, “Jabba the Cullen”

This story starts off with Edward Cullen finally returning to visit his hometown of Forks after staying away for six long years. Edward left Forks as the taunted “Jabba the Cullen” and comes back as the new hot shot and sexy trimmed down composer that now resides in LA.

I adore this quote from a flashblack when Edward and Bella first met in high school:

“Instead of snorting or looking him over, deciding that he wasn't worth her time like so many others had, she kept her eyes on his. Then she smiled a little brighter.

And just like that, after only a handful of words and a grin, Edward fell in love with Bella Swan.”

Bella was the only one that gave Edward the time of day during high school. She was his only true friend and he was in love with her. He never requited his love and with his trip home he realizes that his love for her never faded.

When he sees Bella Swan for the first time since coming back, he quickly recognizes that chubby insecure young boy with sweaty palms trying to creep back from the inside.

Edward believes that Bella has the effect on him because he has held her on a pedestal all these years and that the only way he can get over her is...well to date her..or try to anyway.

“I was Edward Cullen, new and improved.
And maybe it was time that Bella knew that.”

Edward is desperate to show Bella that he is no longer “Jabba the Cullen” but is that really what Bella wants?

You are not going to love this Edward because he is the unattainable fantasy; you are going to fall for him because this Edward is actually relatable. He is irrevocably human and I think his relationship with food is one of the cutest things I have ever seen in fanfiction. He made me snort out loud, because as a chubby kid myself I could totally connect with his food and comfort issues.

What really makes this story for me is all the subtleties that the author threads throughout the story to give her characters life. As a reader, you won’t only fall in love with Edward, but you will not be able to keep yourself from falling head over heels for the Cullens and their family dynamic. After reading this I want nothing more than to drink Esme’s hot cocoa with all of them around the fire.

This story is a modern spin on the ugly duckling fairy tale and it’s overflowing with realism and honesty.

If you haven’t started yet, please don’t keep this story in the shadows for long, because you will regret it.

The Muse in the Attic by ClearlyAmbiguous
Summary: Hearing creepy and unsettling sounds coming from the attic not long after moving into her late grandfather's house, Bella discovers someone lost and scared hiding in her attic. Who is he and what does his presence there mean for her?

The summary of this fic is what initially got my attention. I am always looking for something different. Don’t get me wrong, I love a good lemon as much as the next h00r, but sometimes I need a break. That’s not to say there aren’t any lemons in Muse but that’s not what it’s all about. And normally I have to read at least the first five chapters to decide if the fic can keep my attention to continue. That wasn’t the case with The Muse in the Attic. I was drawn in before the end of the prologue and I knew instantly that I’d be along for the ride, however long it is.

The story starts out with Bella, who is newly divorced from Embry and decides move back to Forks, to Evergreen Manor, the house that her late Grandfather left her in his will. While unpacking, she starts to hear music playing that no one else seems to hear. She also smells apple pie baking but again, no one else can smell it but her. Later that night after everyone else has gone home after helping her move in, she starts hearing noises in the attic. When she goes to investigate, she finds a naked man shivering in the corner. She leaves to get him a blanket and upon her return, he’s gone.

Bella recollects many of the stories her Grandfather used to regal her with while growing up and you can see that the relationship between the two is very heart-warming. While considering some of the stories he Grandfather has told her, Alice steps in to help Bella find out more about the previous owners of Evergreen Manor. Bella also has a very interesting run in with Jared who along with the rest of La Push, may or may not know a thing or two about the history of the manor themselves. After not being able to really come up with anything, Bella decides to make a very important call to a paranormal psychologist who just might be able to tell her a thing or two about what’s going on…

This is an AH Edward and Bella story...do not be fooled! I LOVE this story! Nothing I can say can really do it justice. I’m constantly on the edge of my seat wondering what will happen next and how all the pieces fit together. Edward and Bella both have their own mysteries to solve separately and then figure out how they are linked. After every update I am left with a different theory as to what’s going on. I’m absolutely amazed by the creativity that ClearlyAmbiguous demonstrates within the story line. Her ability to even think of this story, keep it all straight and then being able to link it all together boggles my mind. There are so many details and twists and turns, it just goes to show how truly talented she is.

ClearlyAmbiguious is clearly NOT ambiguous when it comes to her writing and the detail she adds to Muse. Her writing style is different than anything I’ve read, and I’ve read A LOT of fics. This story is beautifully written. She writes with an eloquence that I haven’t seen before. Her use of imagery is not over done but just the right amount so you feel like you’re actually right there in the same room with the characters and feeling every emotion they are feeling. I love the way her writing flows and how it makes me feel when I read it! Every chapter gives you just the right amount to satisfy the need to know what’s going on, while leaving you wondering and wanting more at the same time!

“He extends his arm out to greet me and I step into the house, anticipating the enveloping feel of his embrace. But as soon as he is within reach, he steps back and turns on his heel ascending the stairs. "Edward!" I cry out, but get no response, his name vacant and strangely foreign on my tongue. He continues climbing, seemingly unaware of my persistent attempts to regain his attention. In my haste, I clamor up the stairs behind him, but with each step closer, he moves farther away. I desperately reach out for him, worry coursing over every pore of my body as I grasp at nothing but empty air.”

See what I mean? What are you waiting for? Go read it!

The Devil's Hypnotist by WindowWardsGirl

Summary: All it took was one meeting and Bella was hooked. Problem is she can only remember a pair of piercing green eyes. Rated M for language encounters of the yellow fruit kind. AU/AH

"Now Isabella, I told you last time we met I would not be easy on you." -Edward

Now tell me that quote alone doesn’t make you want to read this story? I dare you.

I had found myself in a sort of a story rut. Most of my stories were ending or had ended and I was aching for something new and different. My good friend recommended this to me and I put it on my list and didn't start it right away. And for that I’m thankful, because if I had to just read that prologue alone without the next chapter ready and waiting I probably would have done something ridiculous like gnaw off my own hand. This story was something different all right. I asked for a story that would literally pull me to it. I so desperately longed for one of those “drop everything and read” stories.

I got exactly what I asked for.

This is an Edward and Bella story, but I promise you it is like no other. Edward and Bella have a strong connection that we the readers aren’t clued in on all the details yet. There is something dark, powerful and mysterious about this Edward and again we aren’t entirely to sure what it is, besides that he must hide behind his sunglasses. This story is going to blossom and unfold like a good story should. Nothing is given away in the beginning, nothing at all,. You know just enough to keep you coming back for more.

This story strikes your curiosity from the very get go and will make you go ‘What the hell,’ but in the way every reader wants to. This story is full of secrets and I’m dying to know everyone of them. It has multiple layers like an onion and it seems as though the author has planned to unfold each secret in perfect sync to interweave with the story. There are flicks of hints of what could be possibly going on but this is the type of story where each word she types could be a clue or a just a wonderful tease.

Speaking of teases, Here’s a little Bella inner monologue regarding the man she just met, Edward. Well the man she thinks she just met...

“He gave me a little smirk making me feel as stupid as I sounded, before grabbing my hand and pulling me through the crowd and led me to a car; or should I say the sex chariot that belonged too the sex god in front of me. It was a white Maserati MC Sport-line with windows tinted so dark that I couldn't see in. It was the sexiest fucking car I'd ever seen. The contours screamed sex and I wanted to fuck or be fucked on the hood. He opened the door for me without speaking a word, pulled my hand up and kissed the inside of my palm. It was the most intimate and erotic feeling I had ever experienced. This guy knew what he was doing. As I settled into my seat, he walked around to the driver's door gracefully. It looked like he was gliding. I wondered if he was aware of the hold he had on me.”

See? That’s just a hint of hotness that’s to come.

I cannot wait for her to slowly unravel all the secrets of the enigmatic Edward/Hypnoward - Follow him on Twitter ladies.

You should not hesitate to jump on the train that is The Devils Hypnotist. It is only two chapters in but from what I have seen I have nothing but utter faith and trust in this author to take us on a ride that we will never forget.

Get Me To You by Chicklette

Summary: Winner of Winter 2010 Indie! Pet names and Pop Tarts. Sunday mornings with Etta and Ella. Cibola. Candymouth. You finally realize the truth. What if it's too late? M for drinking, drug use, sex and effing language. ExBxJxAxEm/POV, AH, OOC.

I'm in my late 30's and this story made me feel like I was back in high school. You have the jock/cool guy Edward, the new girl Bella, and the all-around sweetheart Jasper.

Bella is in love with Edward - who is too cool to love anyone. Jasper and Bella are best friends, and Jasper has been in love with clueless Alice for years and she does not return the feelings. You have crazy Emmett and Rose in the mix also.

Edward breaks Bella's heart (go figure) and Jasper is there to pick up the pieces. They find out that their feelings run deeper then friendship. It's a perfect fit. After the fact, Edward figures out he does have feelings for Bella and Alice decides that maybe she does like Jasper or does she want what she can't have?

Jasper & Bella are very happy together for awhile until Jasper takes a trip with Rose and Alice. Alice puts into motion something that will change all their lives. Will Bella end up with Edward? Can things be fixed? The silent hero in this story, I believe, is Emmett.

The main thing that struck me is that there is no dialog; it’s all internal, so you switch points of view a lot, which is necessary because you need to get the whole picture. A part of me understood Bella and her behavior all too well. We have all been there, in high school just trying to survive.

I could go on and on about this story but I don't want to spoil it for you. It's a MUST read. It's sweet and heartbreaking at the same time.

So this is Lady Tazz saying that this story hits a home run with me. Till next time, happy reading!

Battle Wounds by writerinmydreams007
Review by AydenM
*This Story is no longer available*

Summary: There are two intensly hurt people living in Forks, Washington. Anger, dispair and bitterness hold them back behind the brick walls they have built around themselves. Can time and love heal all wounds? Dark OC, AH, lemons, brief references to violence.

When I first began reading fanfiction late last year, I'll admit that I was leery. I didn't believe it was possible to come across a derivative that I loved as much as the original. For months, I believed that. And then I picked up Battle Wounds.

Bella moves to Forks in order to escape the whispers and stares that have haunted her since her life came unraveled and landed her in the one place she hopes to never return to. Edward has lived in Forks for years and, like Bella, wishes to escape the very public horror of his own past. Neither believes in love and neither is looking for more heartache, but when they find one another, they find both.

As the summary of this story states, "there are two intensely hurt people living in Forks." The author, writerinmydream007, could not have been more up-front than that. From the very first, this story holds nothing back. From Bella's horrifying flash-back to the trauma that led her to flee Phoenix to Edward's revelation of his own painful past; it is obvious that these two are, indeed, as broken as the summary suggests. It is also obvious, however, just how quickly things can change.

When Bella and Edward meet for the first time, she's terrified of his temper, believing him to be cut from the same cloth as those who wounded her so deeply. Things aren't always as they appear, however, and writerinmydream does a fantastic job of proving that point. Broken, bitter Edward is not irredeemable as his attitude and behavior would lead one to believe. His inexplicable feelings for Bella drag him into the harsh light of day where he must not only face the young man he has become, but find the one he wishes to be for her.

When Bella cracks beneath the weight of what her mind has locked away from her in a last ditch effort to protect her from a horrible reality she is not yet ready to face; Edward must decide whether to give up on her and protect his own heart or fight for what he never wanted and help her survive the anguish that has gripped her so entirely. The problem is he doesn't know what has broken her. Will she be able to tell him? And more importantly, will he be able to convince her that she is not the disgusting, unwanted person she believes she has become?

Even at its most tragic, this story will give you hope. writerinmydream007 does an absolutely phenomenal job capture the subtle nuances of emotion and amplifying them. She manages to not only show you as any great writer does, but to make you feel. You will laugh with these characters. You will cry with these characters. Your heart will be ripped out of your chest for these characters and then put back by these characters. And at the end of the day you will still believe that if anyone can work it out, it will be these two not because love conquers all, but because two characters as strong as these two can conquer and overcome anything for love.

Battle Wounds is rated M and includes scenes of graphic sexual violence.

Ugly by Silver Sniper of Night

Summary: “They say beauty is only skin deep. Well, I’m not sure about that.” A woman who sees the world in perfection and imperfection, and the man who cannot see either find they have more in common than they could have believed.

As some of you may know, I get the pleasure of reading everything Silver Sniper writes immediately after she gets done writing it. Ugly, is no exception. One day we’re talking and she’s all ‘I have this idea for a new story’ and then goes in to explain a little bit and asks me what I think. I immediately fell in love with the idea and pretty much begged her every single day to write Burnward for me and let me read it. Then one day we’re talking again (and honestly, we’re always talking so this shouldn’t come as a surprise) and she tells me she wrote the Prologue. I, of course, start bouncing up and down in my computer chair and begging her to send it to me. So she does. And let me tell you, I’ve never had such a raw and emotional reaction to 400 words in my entire life. I sobbed. Literally I did.

I never used to think about skin. It was simply an inescapable surface that was just there. I should never have taken my skin for granted. It's very important. Touch can reassure, relax and comfort. It reduces depression, anxiety, stress and physical pain. Skin can heal. It helps your immune system, and affects your behavior and moods. Skin is our greatest defense against bacteria and deathly infection.

And it hurts like hell when it's ravaged by fire.

As we find out in the prologue, Edward is horrifically burned in a fire (as this point, we know little to nothing about what happened – how the fire occurred, etc) and half of his face is burned beyond recognition. Yes. You heard me right. Silver Sniper as deformed our precious Edward and I LOVE her for doing it. This is exactly why I love everything she writes. She’s not afraid to take chances and she gives us something completely different and original (If you haven’t read her other fic Eye Contact, go and read it now. You won’t be disappointed, trust me). I’m in love with Edward’s voice – so seemingly strong yet a little bit of self-loathing just under the surface.

In the first chapter, we meet Isabella Swan, a rich, young, beautiful socialite. But she’s so much more than a spoiled rich kid and we see that right from the beginning. It’s almost as though she’s trapped and suffocating in this world she lives in. I love her character because she’s kind, strong, and compassionate.

We were all dolls really, living in our plastic houses. In this town, we were the elite. We didn't need an education; we had enough old money and trust funds to live forever, without lifting a finger. We were expected to look, but not touch, and to pair ourselves off with equally outstanding men.

Yet there was something about being molded in plastic and fashioned like clay that didn't quite sit right with me.

I can already tell, even after only one brief interaction, that Edward and Bella are perfect for each other and will irrevocably change each other’s lives. I’m eager to see just what Silver Sniper has in store of us. One thing is for sure, it’s going to be an angsty ride and Silver Sniper will not disappoint.

Summary: “COMPLETE. Preternaturally irresistible, devastatingly charming Edward Cullen seems to have some strange power over the females in Forks…and Bella is scared she might know just what it is.M for language & naughty fun. Part mystery, part drama, all Edward.”

This story begins with a rather different Edward Cullen than we are used to seeing. He is the boy that no one notices at Forks High School. Bella Swan knows he exists, but that’s about the extent of their relationship besides being partners in class. He is a nobody, a nerd with thick glasses and a bowl hair cut that none of the girls gave a second thought about.

Until a few months later...

Edward comes back a completely changed man. Bella, however, is not sure that he is a man at all.

The girls do a lot more than notice him now. He seems to have every girl under his spell and Bella is determined to figure out this “new” Edward. She wants to know what happened to him and what gave him this apparent new power he now possesses and holds over women. She is also desperate to figure out why he treats her differently from every other girl.

I absolutely adored this story. It’s different, quirky, mysterious and has a very clever plot and twist.

You know that feeling when you just happen to stumble upon a great story, that’s totally unlike anything else you’ve read, yeah this is one of those stories.

This story is more of an experience than a good read. It plays like a movie in your head with the author’s vivid imagery created by her intense and poetic descriptions.

Her explanation of the world she has created is amazing and vivid, but the real bread and butter lies within her Edward Cullen. Her description of Edward, alone, will draw you in, hook, line and sinker. She doesn’t just describe Edward Cullen, her words bring him to life making him jump off your computer screen and you swear you can actual experience everyone one of the authors teasing keystrokes physically.

There are too many good quotes in this story, her descriptions are mesmerizing and inspiring. One that struck a chord was when she described Edward talking. She said it was as if he was, “...shifting from word to word like he was bowing a cello rather than speaking.”
The picture she paints is beyond superb, but here is a little taste. A description of the new Edward Cullen;

“When women looked at him now, they didn't just see Edward Cullen...They imagined how that tongue would feel in their mouth, teasing and rolling and tasting. In gym, they saw the hard slates of his stomach rippling seismically as he tugged the hem of his t-shirt up to wipe sweat of his forehead and the protruding 'v' of his pelvic bone as his shorts rode low. They imagined how that hard stomach would feel against their hand and imagined the simultaneous pleasure and pain of those hipbones sliding against their own...”
I highly recommend this story especially for all Edward Cullen lovers, but be careful, this Edward will cast his spell on you and so will the author.

Uncomfortable by Savannah-Vee

Summary: Got 'Best Angst' mention in 'Slash Backslash' contest! 'The way he looks at me makes me feel...uncomfortable.' Jasper's girlfriend's brother, Edward, keeps staring at him. Why? Who knows. Seems like even Edward is confused...SLASH, AH, very OOC.

One-shot for the Backslash contest, continued into a full length fic. Mentioned for best Slash and Judges Pick.

"The way he looks at me makes me feel...uncomfortable." Jasper, Chapter 1...first line.

That very first line alone describes exactly what the entire fic is about...that very first line draws you in and captivates you, leaving you sucked into a world of confusion, lust, anger, madness, insecurity, experimentation, love...denial.

That very first line sent a chill down my arms.

That very first line made me an instant fan of Savannah's and automatically gave me a new outlook on what 'Slash' stories can be about.

The first chapter introduces you to a young Jasper; high school student...shy, handsome...and meeting his girlfriend, Alice, parents for the first time.

This is also where we meet Edward; he is breath taking, strong, assertive...and making Jasper feel uncomfortable with the way he looks at him.

Jasper learns quickly that maybe he is not as confident in his sexuality as he thought; knowing instantly that it is Edward that he wants.

Problem...

Edward is his own worst enemy, he is the poster boy for the 'straight male' he drinks beer, plays video games, has the girl on his arm...college student, bad mouth...friends.

Edward offers the looks; giving Jasper a reason to suspect that the feelings are mutual...only confirmed when Jasper and Edward have a late night run in that leaves them both experiencing their first homosexual act.

The way Savannah has written their "first experience" (and not the actual act of sex) is almost innocent and sweet but Edward's confusion radiates and eventually wins. He throws Jasper out of his room.

"I pretended you were Bella..." Edward, Chapter 1

We see a lot of this side of Edward, almost to a point where you scream at your computer screen for Jasper to fuck his shit up and leave...but you don't.

Jasper is the optimist.

Edward is the pessimist.

The author is the realist.

Edward is confused and as a reader I can't help but understand, his entire life is changing at a rapid pace and he is afraid.

"A fucking fag who hates fags..." And "this is some kind of punishment..."

These are Edward’s words but then he has moments where you just want to hold him and tell him everything is ok.

"...this feels right..." And "...I love you."

I have read many Slash fics in my time and never once have I come across one that has a plot and background that is so entirely special and meaningful. As of chapter 7, Jasper and Edward have yet to have sex, but when they do act on their impulses its meaningful and sincere...so entirely bitter sweet.

I can't help but to feel that this is how it must feel for people dealing with coming out and experiencing the confusion of sexuality must feel. She writes in a true and honest way.

For now we are left at another impasse and I look forward in the conclusion of this story.

Edward, Chapter 2 "...mad at myself for feeling this towards another guy...felt like this was all your fault...it was you making me feel...gay."

I'm on Team Edward and Jasper for this one...

Hopefully Jasper's insistence work's in the end and he 'gets the guy'

Voice For Me by PashasPickMeUp
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5896974/1/Voice_For_Me
Reviewed by JaimeArkin

Summary: Bella and Edward come from two different worlds; one of silence and one of sound. Fiesty Bella starts school at Forks High and turns jaded Edward's world upside down. Can they find their own voice through true love?

Bella lives in a world of silence. She’s hearing impaired and her parents have decided to take her from the school she has attended her whole life and place her in Forks High School where she is the only hearing impaired student. Quickly we realize that this is not going to be an easy transition for her whether it’s the gawking students or the stubbornness of teachers, she has to figure out a way to make it work. We quickly meet Alice and her brother Edward. Alice, as Bella’s interpreter, tries to make everything as easy as possible and they become fast friends.

Very quickly the Cullen family and more specifically Edward, become immersed in lessons in understanding a different culture and learning to accept differences. In this story, Edward has to fight for Bella’s respect, which I really enjoy. He doesn’t just automatically get the girl. We get the story mainly from Edward’s POV and we experience the difficulty that he goes through trying to understand and adjust to make room for Bella in his life. He certainly starts out as a cynical, spoiled kid who takes a lot of things for granted but as the chapters progress we see his changes and as a reader I was impressed with his growth. There are a few misunderstandings as can be expected when attempting to mesh two completely different worlds but the best part of this story for me was the realness and the idea that we as readers can learn a thing or two about real life issues while enjoying a wonderful story.

The authors of this story grew up around deaf culture as children of deaf adults so they know what they are writing about and I personally have always found ASL or American Sign Language fascinating. Most of the signs in the chapters are explained so not only can you visualize but if you’re so inclined, learn the signs too! Not only that but we read about the different prejudices and discriminations that the deaf community has experienced and still experiences. It opens your eyes to how cruel some people can be but we also see how loving, accepting and caring people can be and how differences in a relationship can turn your world upside down but in a completely wonderful way. This story is a work in progress and is only sixteen chapters in. I definitely suggest starting it now, if you don’t you are missing out on a touching, wonderful, real story!

Night Must Fall by Katinki http://www.fanfiction.net/s/6000661/1/Night_Must_Fall
Review by Les16

Summary: In a world of night, of darkness, shadows known as the Volturi reign supreme. Their word is law, unquestioned and unchallenged. A word has been spoken. She has been condemned to die. AU/M for themes/violence/language/sexual situations.

If you are looking for a dark, graphic, and haunting A/U vampire story, then Katinki’s Night Must Fall is perfect for you. Katinki’s unparalleled attention to detail weaves a visually evocative story of Edward who is a slave to the Volturi and wears the black cloak as one of the most treasured of Aro’s possessions. This is a different reality for most fan fiction readers to stumble upon. Edward is not a part of the Cullen family, he drinks human blood, and he has never laid eyes on Bella.

The story builds slowly, much like a horror film. There is a sinister feel to the beginning chapters as we learn a bit about Edward. He is most obviously bored and apathetic with his existence but he is resigned to performing his duties because he sees no other options. Katinki lends a haunting feel to the story with sentences like “I’m sorry. You will not suffer. You will feel no pain. Go to your God.” And the feeling is even more authenticated with her proficient use of both Latin and Italian. Edward is sent on a mission to find out more about the Cullen family…and Bella; a human who knows more than she is supposed to.

Her Bella is studying anthropology and is obsessed with medieval superstition. Of course, this comes from her abandonment of the Cullen family over seven years ago and she is on a desperate search to find out all she can of her beloved adopted family and best friend Alice. Is this what has alerted the Volturi to her presence? We don’t know, yet, but I am sure Katinki will keep us on the edge of our seats as we wait to find out.

There is a definite skill needed to write dark tales and Katinki possesses them all. The slow build, the effective use of visualization, the fear of the unknown. In just the few chapters that have been posted so far, she has managed an amazing depth of characterization and we are all left wondering if Edward will somehow turn into the vampire we all know and love or if he will continue to remain one of the most treasured member of the Volturi?

Awakening by bbwraven
http://www.fanfiction.net/s/5366276/1/Awakening
Review by Acullenwannabe

Summary: Rockstar Edward Cullen is going to Forks for much needed R&R with family and friends. He didn't expect to find old flame Bella Swan dealing with an abusive husband. Can he put his bruised ego aside to be there for Bella, risking his heart to her again?
There are many different types of stories in the Twilight fandom, some funny and lighthearted, some dark and scary, and some, like the fic I am reviewing today, deal with serious real life issues in an insightful way. Awakening by bbwraven is a great example of this type of story.

Bbwraven does an amazing job weaving the tale of pain and heartache linked to the survivors of domestic abuse in this tale of a worn and broken Bella who keeps returning to her dangerously abusive husband, James Ramsey, time and time again after horribly painful injuries at his hands. Dr. Cullen is an ER physician who has taken a serious interest in Bella. He wants to help, but his hands are tied.

When Dr. Cullen’s kids, who work together in the band Cullen, front lined by Edward, come home for a hiatus after a very long tour, worlds collide once more as former flame Edward discovers what happened after he left. As the story continues, showing the painful path Bella takes through the process of choosing to leave and recovering from not only her physical, but also her emotional wounds, both parties discover the deceit that not only kept them apart, but also kept Bella trapped and feeling obligated to the Ramsey family as she endured the abuses heaped upon her.

This work in progress is poignant, real, and heartfelt, leaving us all anxiously awaiting Bella’s final ties to the Ramsey family be severed and for her relationship with Edward to continue to progress. I highly recommend you take some time to read and enjoy, not only Edward and Bella, but also another fun, brotherly Emmett, a always awesome Jasper, and a vibrant, but frustrated with the pixie stereotype Alice, as they all help Bella heal and move on to a better life, free of the abuse and pain she had continually endured over the past four years.

Summary: “Edward becomes paralyzed after a motorcycle accident. He immediately begins pushing everyone away, including his gf Bella. Will he let her back in or tear their relationship apart? "Sing something new, I have nothing left. I can't face the dark w/o you.’’

The Definition of Chasm: (1) A deep, steep-sided opening in the earth's surface; an abyss or gorge. (2) A sudden interruption of continuity; a gap. (3) A pronounced difference of opinion, interests, or loyalty.

"But what if love isn't enough?" -Bella

The universal question; is love really all we need? Is love all it takes to make a relationship work?

This story starts out with Edward in the hospital after a motorcycle accident that could leave him paralyzed forever. This Edward is the natural caretaker and provider that we ladies all know and love. He firmly believes that his role in this relationship is to act as Bella’s protector forever and always. This has caused Edward to not deal well with his current situation. So much so that he is even having problems connecting with the love of his life and fiancée Bella.

I felt for this Edward from the very beginning of this story, but this quote did it in for me. You can see exactly the type of man this Edward is:

“Bella was tiny. Who was going to get the serving platters down from the top shelf of the kitchen cabinets? I always did that shit for her. Who was going to reach the wine glasses that were in the cupboards above the fridge? I always did that shit too. How was I going to be able to do even the smallest things to take care of my Bella if I was confined to a wheelchair for the rest of our lives?” -Edward

At first I wondered why this story seemed to tug at my heart strings so much. I mean, I Iiterally had tears in my eyes with each chapter. I thought maybe it was because my boyfriend rides a motorcycle, so maybe it scared me a bit. I suddenly realized that wasn't the case; it’s because something like this could happen to someone you love at anytime. All it takes in one moment to flip your world upside down. In this story this Bella can’t just get lost in Edward’s emerald stare and then everything is a-ok in the morning. Unfortunately, in life some of us get dealt a shitty hand (pardon my French) and this Edward and Bella are actually going to have to really work to get themselves back on track, back to where they were before the accident.

We, the readers, get little glimpses into Edward and Bella’s previous life with flashbacks that the author weaves throughout the story effortlessly. The flashbacks create the perfect balance of happiness and sadness. Happiness because you Edward and Bella’s love and adoration for one another radiates off the screen and sadness because you so desperately want them back to that simpler happy time.

With most stories we readers acts as voyeurs as we eagerly wait to watch the story unfold. With this story however, the author forces us into Edward and Bella’s shoes and she forces you to think. She makes us ache for both Edward and Bella equally. In this story you’re not sure who to feel for the most and I love this different spin on the typical Edward and Bella dynamic

I know it sounds a bit heartbreaking, but the author has promised a HEA, but also warns that it will not be without trials and tribulations.
I suggest this story with all my heart. It’s only four chapters in, but this story grabs you from the beginning and refuses to let you go.
