Yeah, You by Marvar
Review by Obsmama

Rating: M
Genre: Romance/Humor
Characters: Edward/Bella

Summary: Bella starts a new school and is instantly attracted to Edward. Is the feeling mutual? Does her sister's wedding get in the way of her happiness? Read and find out. There's also a geek, French exchange student, and some laughs. Inspired by an 80s movie.

So, I have two loves in my life, one is reading fanfic the other is 80’s movies. I grew up in the late 80’s-early 90’s and one of my all time faves is Sixteen Candles. So when I stumbled upon Yeah, You and find its a fic inspired by one of my favorite movies ever, I was ecstatic. The amazing thing about it is that it takes the story line of Samantha and Jake Ryan and really gives it the Twilight twist. It’s not a carbon copy; it is it’s own entity with just some great flavoring. You have all the usual suspects, Bella is the new girl who is immediately attracted to the star of the High School, Edward, but as her new bestie Alice informs her he’s taken, by the queen of Forks High, Tanya (dun dun dun). But all is not what it seems. Is there trouble in paradise for Edward and Tanya or is all just an illusion? The supporting characters MAKE this story for me, Jasper and Edward have the funniest scenes in the whole story. The author really knows how to write teenage boys and how they like to mess with each other.

"It would have been a travesty to waste a perfectly good keg, Wimpward. It goes against the man code. Do I have to teach you everything?" Jasper stretched his arms over his head. "And you can stop eyeing my goods. I knew the sight of me in all my glory might be too much for you to handle. Yes, this is what a real man looks like."

I shoved him back onto the futon. "Fuck you, Whit-cock. I think you have a little crush on me. I'm surprised I woke up dressed this morning." He grabbed me in a headlock and we proceeded to wrestle for a few minutes. "See, I told you that you couldn't keep your hands off me," I grunted as he gave me a charlie-horse in the thigh. "Damn it, Jazz, we gotta go. I know you are hoping I'll touch your manhood, but that day will never come."

I thought about the situation we were in. Wrestling in our underwear. "You do realize that this is completely fucking gay, right? An elastic malfunction and we're sixty-nining." Yeah, and last night I got fondled by Bella's male-escort. This twenty-four hour period has proved to me that I'm completely hetero.

"Dude, I'm completely secure in my sexuality. Don't put your hang-ups on me."

This is a fun story and had me laughing chapter after chapter. The characters fumble through love and misunderstand after misunderstanding, but in the end it’s the sweetness of Edward and Bella that leaves you swoony! Some of my favorite scenes from Sixteen Candles have found their way into the story. There is a certain foreign exchange student *Le Donger* that makes quite a splash and does a certain Homecoming Queen lose some hair?? I think she does! This is a story not to miss. The author has a wicked sense of humor and such a way with writing words. I will leave you with some words of advice that Bella receives from Le Donger.

"You may need two hands for zee Edward cock."
