Prey for the Wicked is a new WIP with three chapters posted so far. It is well written in the third person and has totally peaked my interest thus far. Edward is mysterious, handsome, fear inducing and deadly. He's no longer mortal.
The story starts out with him going to a bar because the music sounds incredible to his heightened senses, and he wishes for one night that he can ignore the sounds that he normally hears.
He's here to lose himself in the thick, pulsing beat of live rock music. The driving thrum of bass, the sweet licks of guitar riffs, the melodic sounds of a throaty, baritone singer with rare perfect pitch. To drown out the incessant cacophony of mind noise that is the bane of his existence, his unrelenting cross to bear, his curse. For just one moment in his damned existence, he wishes to forget who and what he is.
Bella innocently walks by him and he's never smelled such a delectable scent. He decides he must have her and waits outside on a rooftop for her to exit. When he spots Mike grabbing onto her, even though she's resisting his annoyingly persistent advances, he steps in and quickly takes care of the situation.
She agrees to let him walk her home and then invites him in for a drink. What transpires is mesmerizing not only to Bella, but to the readers as well.
Edward of the dark, odd eyes and the velvet voice and the beautiful chiseled jaw and body. Skin cool, perfectly defined muscles so hard to the touch, feeling like sculpture beneath her greedy hands...
There is something hypnotizing about Edward and Bella lets go of any inhibitions she might have had regarding this beautiful stranger.
She wakes up the next morning in a weak, fatigued state and her memory is cloudy. She sleeps the day away and is only coherent because her persistent best friend, Jessica, has a million questions about her night out.
Bella's memory starts to piece itself together and she remembers the man that consumed her the night before. Her thoughts lead to questions, and she is unsure of what to expect next.
Mine. You are mine, Isabella.
She makes a startling discovery and is left wondering what it all means.
The next chapter is going to be in Edward's point of view and will surely give an insight as to what he's all about. It's the perfect time to start this Darkward fic.
